My course: HIST 2170 Latino/as in US, 1846 to Present is an elective in the Interdisciplinary Program, Health & Medical Humanities (HHUM). Environmental health issues have always been an important topic in my teaching and research. My most recent publication is the first history of Latino/a health care in the US. The forthcoming essay is titled, “Colonial Care: Medicalizing Latino/a Bodies in the United States, 1894-1970s,” Healthcare in Latin America: History, Society, Culture, edited by David S.
