I am a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My research interests are in domestic violence, trauma, and incarceration among girls and women. I teach courses on topics of violence, urban problems and solutions, culture and health, and others. My most recent research focuses on breaking the cycle of trauma and violence amongst incarcerated mothers and their children. I am also conducting research on domestic violence intervention programs and delivery methods during and post COVID.
